Introduction
This is an installation guide for windows. If you know what a webserver is and are running one already you shouldn't be reading this.
Installation on Linux (Windows users skip)
Installation on Linux is assumed to be simple: Apache 2, MySql 5 and Php 5 are required. Make sure you have the most up to date versions of these packages. I know the stable version of Debian has a version of PHP 5 that will lead to problems, so watch out for that one
Step 0: Get a clean system
If you've ever run a webserver for any purpose (like running Tabbie), you should make sure it's turned off before you start Tabbie-All-In-One. You can be absolutely sure by opening up the task manager and looking out for processes named "Apache" and "MySql".
Step 1: Get The All In One Package
Go to http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=199347
Here you'll find two kinds of downloads: regular ones, and the All In One Version. Get the All In One Version and safe it to a place where you'll be able to find it. Get yourself some coffee.
Step 2: Unpack it
Use your favourite tool to unpack the .zip file
Step 3: (Double) Click on the icon
Open the folder "tabbie" that has just been created by the unzipping process. Inside you'll find a blue icon named "tabbie_on_your_desktop.exe". Click it.
Step 4: Start having fun.
Clicking the icon should start the server. It should also open all kinds of warnings. Click "allow"/"ok"/"I started this" or whatever makes the warnings go away. By this time your browser should also have opened to the following address: http://localhost:8080/tabbie/ (if it didn't do so yourself now). Make sure you take a look at this page to see you've installed Tabbie correctly.
Issues
The windows version does not support backups natively. You can (and should) use the phpMyAdmin tool (below) for this.
Tips
The WOS window has a menu. The menu has options. One of the options is to allow access from other areas than 'localhost' Put your computer in a safe environment (network) and enable this option to allow your friends to access your Tabbie installation (and speed up the data input).
http://localhost:8080/phpmyadmin/ should open to a tool that allows you to manipulate your database directly. If you know what MsAccess is, and especially if you know what SQL is, you can have lots of fun there. You can also use this tool for your backups. Proceed with caution though, since this is manipulating the program from a low level.
